Been a while since I’ve done a re-introduction h

Been a while since I’ve done a re-introduction here! So hello, I’m Dr. Nicolet! 👋🏼

I’m a resident physician specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R), also called Physiatry 🥼We help all sorts of people to improve their function and quality of life! Fun fact: I went to med school thinking I would specialize in OB/GYN - but PM&R caught my heart 🥰

I met my husband in med school 👩🏻‍🤝‍👨🏽He’s in his chief year of Internal Medicine residency!

I love all things outdoors, whether it’s a walk around my neighborhood or exploring the world through hiking. 🌳I also really love yoga and weight lifting! I guess I do a little of everything - except indoor cycling. I hate indoor cycling 😂

We make each other’s lives better, and I knew that from the start of our relationship.

Joshua was my biggest support when I was studying for Step 1 (the most important and strenuous exam in every med student’s life), which I was prepping for soon after we started dating. He cooked most of my meals, timed his coffee deliveries perfectly, often picked up my mess of an apt, and held my head when I needed to cry bc everything felt like too much.

I would often say to him, “I couldn’t do this without you.” He would smile and tell me, “I’m here to support you, and I’ll do anything for you, BUT you could in fact do this without me.” Still when I am celebrating a success and say to him, “thank you for helping me get here,” he responds with “this was all you.”

He has always believed in me, as I believe in him. But the best part about our relationship is that we make each other’s lives better. We empower each other. So yeah, independently we are both very capable, but we’re stronger together 💪🏽

We laughed & danced all night long with our loved ones 🤍 the speeches were absolutely hilarious, the music was on point, & we had the best people to celebrate with! Ended with a private dance & sparkler exit ✨

I’m finishing up my third month of PGY-2 year an

I’m finishing up my third month of PGY-2 year and my goodness time is flying. This month I’ve been on inpatient rehab at a private facility (and had a vacation week for my wedding). It’s been really great to experience the private side of inpatient rehab. ⁣

I am still on cloud 9 that Joshua and I are married 🥰 It’s pretty crazy to think about how much we have been through together - supporting each other through med school, now residency, and soon as Joshua transitions into being an attending physician 🤯⁣

So much can change in such a short period of time! Take a moment to look back on where you were a year ago.. or four years ago! I am always amazed at how the day-to-day grind feels so slow and impossible sometimes, but when we look back we really have taken leaps forward!⁣
